Global Sensor Bazaar was founded by Cherise Charleswell and Tanisha Everett. We are “unlikely” globetrotters with working-class backgrounds and roots in the Global South. In spite of never boarding an airplane until one’s 18th birthday as a result of enlisting in the military or coming from a family of “small island” people, we’ve managed to travel to over 35 countries - from Italy, Vietnam, India, Tunisia, Peru, to Kosovo. We’ve lived in ashrams in Thailand, studied at the oldest university in Europe (University of Bologna), went to the most northern region of the world (Arctic), participated in a 5 day trek along the Ha Giang Loop, watched out for mines near the Libyan border, and stood at the center of active volcanoes in Ecuador, Greece, Sicily, and New Zealand! And in every country we’ve met the people, lived among them, danced their dances, eaten their food, and listened to their stories.
